Welcome to blog number 1 of 108! Journey with us through the Nelson Kootenay Lake area as we explore a plethora of healthy things to do.

One hundred and eight healthy things to do in the Nelson and Kootenay Lake area- the challenge will be to write about only one hundred and eight.  This area with its dramatic mountain scenery, idyllic lake settings and enticing downtown cores makes a person healthier just by thinking about visiting.

 Imagine if you actually come to dip in the fresh mountain waters of Kootenay Lake or warm yourself at the Ainsworth Hot Springs.  The health will be coursing through your veins.

 Jump into unparalleled Kootenay powder for a cat skiing vacation or visit the highly accessible and scenic Apex Nordic Centre for some cardio exercise.  Your spirits will soar with your heart rate.

Visit Nelson, Balfour or Kaslo for lovely lakeside walks and find solace in the quiet mountain scenery. 

Refresh yourselves in the myriad of coffee shops.  Imbibe at a historical pub or hotel.  Do a little shopping at the enticing boutiques, take in a performance at the Capitol Theatre or a movie at the Civic Theatre.  Attend one of our festivals, shop for local produce and experience the art and crafts of the area and become healthier by the minute.  Throw in a trip to one of the many outstanding spas and your health will rocket up the charts.

Stay tuned into this blog and experiences all the healthy options the Nelson and KootenayLake area has to offer. Kootenay Lake, from Nelson to Lardeau is 108 kilometeres long. This, I hope explains why our blog is titled 108 healthy things to do.  We will explore one hundred and eight ways to achieve bodily and mindful heath.
